With the support of The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, more people than ever came out to join us for the third annual Jane’s Walk event in Chicago. Over 250 people participated in thirteen neighborhood walks and two ancillary events, resulting in an increase of more than 44% over our 2014 attendance.
We were thrilled to be able to offer such a geographically, sociologically and aesthetically wide range of events, included the lecture by Tim Mennel co-sponsored by AIA Chicago, and the pub crawl. The Walk locations were:
• Andersonville;
• Bronzeville;
• Hutchinson Street;
• Hyde Park North;
• Hyde Park South;
• Jackson Park;
• Logan Square;
• Maggie Daley Park;
• South Chicago;
• South Loop;
• Still Waters Run Deep (Clarendon Corridor);
• Wicker Park and
• Woodlawn.
And we’re proud to learn that our post-weekend survey indicated that 96.43% of participants would recommend future Jane’s Walk events to other people, and the same percentage of participants said that they would take part in future Jane’s Walk events. As we will be offering events in conjunction with the Chicago Architecture Biennial, starting in October, we hope to see all of you there!
